Donaldson is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for this specific square "snap-on" style and uses their proprietary Synteq synthetic media. This media is designed for high efficiency and consistent flow under extreme pressure. Wix uses a high-quality cellulose (paper) blend that is reinforced with glass fibers. While it meets or exceeds all OEM requirements, it may have a slightly lower dirt-holding capacity compared to Donaldson’s fully synthetic media in high-contamination environments.
